Pictured here are my two loves: my husband and dog. This is what life is about. Yes, I have been missing for almost two years from this blog and out of the world of librariana on the whole. As for the blog, a part of me was tired of big-brothering myself and filling the internet with not so significant banter about my likes and dislikes on this blog, twitter and foursquare. It's just not that important. One to one human contact is what I find more important at this time in my life. In terms of the library conference and association world: I'm also not trying to carry a larger-than-most burden anymore. I was way too involved and I was more involved with their care than with my own. I've also been missing because I have been sick for two years. No need to get into this business but I'm hoping for a positive outcome and I hope it comes soon. Taking a step back has been difficult when one is used to being in fourth gear, but one eventually slows down to a gentler pace and finds that the world doesn't stop without them. It is ok being slower, gentler and kinder to oneself. I'm not sure if I'll keep writing in this blog - I did go through and add postscript notes to some of my earlier posts. It is an interesting record of past 5 years. It is also pretty amazing that they don't charge for this service and don't delete blogs once a person slips out of sight for a while - so why not keep it. One never knows what lies ahead.
